Hello there and nice to meet you.
My name is Mollie and I am a 17 year old girl with red hair who lives on an island in Scotland. Yes, I am one of those weird and very rare few who live on an island! And just to make me sound even cooler I think I should say that me and my family also own 14 alpacas. (This is not a common occurrence where I live by the way -we are the only strange animal owners...)
Now that you know a little about me I think it's more important to get down to the reason of why I have set up this blog. I have been a Christian all of my life and was brought up in a Christian household. I "officially" claimed to be a Christian though by the age of 7 (I will upload a post sometime surrounding that experience) and have been on a journey with God ever since. The presence of God has always been very tangible in mine and my families lives and we have all had very personal experiences individually with Jesus. This is why I wanted to start this blog - so that I could share some of mine.
Now, I have had my own personal blog -link- for a while now which is about (or becoming about) fashion, film, motivational posts and my life in general and I am really enjoying it! However, because my Christianity is such a big part of my life, I didn't just want it to feature in the occasional monthly post - I wanted to dedicate an entire new blog to it!
I also really wanted to start this blog because I need a way of reaching out and talking about God right now. You see, last year, me and my friends set up a Scripture Union group at my highschool where we met with people in every year of the school who wanted to attend to talk about God, read and study the Bible and share our experiences. Me and my friends have now recently graduated highschool though so I really wanted to find another outlet similar to our SU group. This is when I began to pray for an opportunity to and soon after, completely unrelated, my mum's friend asked me to help her with a film project (something I'd also been praying about - a film-making opportunity as it's what I want to do) and in the process of planning the film, she told me about her blog and really encouraged me to try and start my own! This is where, after starting my own blog, I realised that blogging would be a great way to talk about God and meet other Christians and so I knew my prayers had been answered!
After more prayer about whether blogging would be a good idea and wondering how I'd going about it so that I could help spread the Word of God in my own small way, the words "Cross My Heart" suddenly came to mind when I was doodling an image of a cross in a heart. As soon as I wrote those words down I knew it was a sign and a few weeks later here I am writing my first post! Isn't God amazing?!
So this is my blog where I hope to talk about God and His Word and share some of my Christian experiences as well as those of others' that I have been told/read about to the very best of my abilities. Though I would like to say I am not a preacher, I'm not incredibly scripture-wise because I myself am still learning and I am still only beginning my understanding of our amazing God, but I am very passionate about my faith and am willing to learn and experiment and see where this blog leads me!
I hope you'll join me along the way and I'll see you soon with my first proper post!
With love and blessings,
Mollie.
